Introduction
While importing files into makersite, Makersite maps "alternatives" to the leave objects in BOMS, IPCs,.... These alternatives are dominant to the dataset in your import file. They replace them. The mapped alternative datasets might have different properties, e.g. reference unit, part weight, part number, .... as the datasets from your file, our applications show the values and properties of the alternatives. To simplify the use of Makersite reports we have introduced additional columns in the grids of our applications (only relevant columns are shown):
Column name | Description | Visible / Hidden |
Name | Name of the dataset as provided in the source file | Visible |
Part number | Part number of the part/component/material as provided in the source file | Visible |
Tier | Represents the level in the file e.g. BOM level | Visible |
Amount (only in the product model app) | Amount of the material in the source file. From the point where an alternative is applied amounts as available in the model of the alternative | Visible |
Unit | Reference unit of Amount (in the product model this represents the units in your BOM, in the Climate Change app this refers to the GWP values) | Visible |
Mapped part number | Part number of the mapped alternative. | Hidden |
Mapped name | Name of the alternative mapped alternative. | Hidden |
Mapped amount | Amount of the mapped alternative. (always related to the type of result values of the selected app) | Hidden
|
Mapped unit | Reference unit of mapped amount. | Hidden |
Match type | Provides information on how Makersite has established the mapping. E.g. user mapping, exact mapping, synonym-based mapping,... | Hidden |
The hidden columns can be visualized using the "columns" menu.
Add hidden columns
When viewing a model in the Grid view, the default columns will show the data contained in the imported BOM file. For example, the 'Part Number' column will show the data from the imported BOM files 'Part Number' column.
Step 1
To view the corresponding Mapped data that Makersite has applied, simply select the 'Columns' menu on the right of the page.
This will open a list of selectable columns that can be added to the Grid view.
Step 2
To add an additional column, select the tick box next to the column name & it will be immediately added to the Grid.
To remove a column, untick the box next to the name, & the column will disappear.
