How to import transaction data files in Makersite

Overview

Makersite needs transaction data to be able to perform Scope 3 Category 1 (Purchased Goods and Services) reporting, which relates to a company's Purchased Goods and Services. However, this data can also be used in other ways, for example to perform Should Costing or supply chain analysis.

Prerequisites

Import Transaction File

  1. From the main dashboard, go to Additional Makersite Tools > Importer. A list of available importers opens.

  2. Select Transaction Importer from the pop-up window.

  3. Select Upload or drag-and-drop your transaction file onto the Makersite workspace.

As a result, you should see a message confirming the status of your import. When the import process is done (time frame depends on the size of your file), you will get a confirmation e-mail.

  4. Check your registered email address for the notification. It will contain [Makersite] followed by the name of the file you imported as the subject line.

Alternatively, you can navigate to the Jobs page in Makersite to check the status. For more information on how to do this, please see the Different Statuses in Jobs article.

Once the upload is complete, the contents of the file are available in Makersite via My Drive.

Prepare Source File

Follow the format in the table below when preparing your transaction file. If you don't include any of the mandatory fields, your import will fail.
