Makersite

Substances and Substance Groups in Makersite are the foundation of a compliance verdict for any product. Read on to understand how to get information on restrictions and exemption statements applicable on a given Substance or Substance Group.

Open a Substance or Substance Group in Makersite and select the Compose view.

On a Substance, check the Parent Groups to see the groups this substance is part of. On a Substance Group, check Substances and Groups to see which Substances and other Substance Groups this group contains.

Go to the Restricted By tab. You can see which Restricted Substance Lists contain this substance and what is the concentration limit. If a Substance Group is restricted, all child substances are restricted too.

Go to Exemption Statements. Here, you can see which RSLs define exemption rules for a given Substance or Substance Group. These Exemption Statements can be applied on the product level when the product contains this substance. Exemption Statements assigned to Substance Groups can be applied to all substances which are part of this group.

1. Open a Substance or Substance Group in Makersite and select the Compose view.
2. On a Substance, check the Parent Groups to see the groups this substance is part of. On a Substance Group, check Substances and Groups to see which Substances and other Substance Groups this group contains.
3. Go to the Restricted By tab. You can see which Restricted Substance Lists contain this substance and what is the concentration limit. If a Substance Group is restricted, all child substances are restricted too.
4. Go to Exemption Statements. Here, you can see which RSLs define exemption rules for a given Substance or Substance Group. These Exemption Statements can be applied on the product level when the product contains this substance. Exemption Statements assigned to Substance Groups can be applied to all substances which are part of this group.
