Report Templates Purpose

Configuring reports every time you run them can be a repetitive task. Report Templates are essentially report snapshots with your report configuration saved, so that it can be re-used and shared with other team members. This way, you and your team members don't have to fill in report parameters or data filters every time. Report Templates do not save data from a particular report - only the configuration of the report.

Prerequisites

You only need access to a report to create a template for it.

Configure Report Template

Configure Data Entry Form

  1. Go to Makersite Apps > Business > Pivot Manager.

  2. Open a report that you want to create a template for.

  3. Start configuring the report.

  4. Once you've entered your configuration, select Create Template as shown in the image below. Enter a name for your template that indicates what it does, and hit Save.

As a result, your template is saved in the Pivot Manager app under My Report Templates. All fields highlighted in the red area above are saved when you open the template.

Configure Report Columns

Similarly, your Report Template can save any changes made to the report columns and store custom configurations saved with Pivot Mode.

  1. In your report, open the Columns menu.

  2. Configure your columns. Changes made in Pivot Mode are supported, too.

  3. Click Create Template. Your template will store the column configuration.

Share Report Templates

  1. Go to Makersite Apps > Business > Pivot Manager.

  2. Under My Report Templates, open the actions menu for a template you want to share.

When you select Share, you can select the recipients and write down any message you want to share about the template. Allow edits grants the recipient the right to edit the template, Send Email sends a notification to the recipient once you share the template.
