To customize your company data, click on the gear icon at the top bar and then open the Company Configuration settings. Here you find on the left side panel all your Configure settings:

Choose the option you would like to explore from the options below:

Company Information

Company Information : this part is divided into 3 sub-tabs:

General Information: The company admin needs to edit the general information, including details like your company website. To enhance discoverability by other firms, include criteria such as country or your email ID, the email address is highly recommended to make it easier for your customers and supplier to communicate with you. You can also add your phone number, ZIP code, and address.

Here you will find a unique code called the Mattermaps ID. Mattermaps now automatically generates a unique Mattermaps ID for existing and new companies, ensuring reliable identification and effortless company connections. This ID is integrated into Supplier APIs and Excel exports, enhancing visibility and searchability.

Identifiers, add company identifiers so others can easily find you. Options like tax ID, DUNS number, etc., are available from a predefined dropdown menu. For example, make your DUNS number discoverable by adding to be visible it within the Partner Network.

Company Settings: Adjust messaging preferences to decide whether to receive messages from everyone or only from existing connections. Allowing messages from anyone can open communication with potential partners.

At the bottom, you can delete your company account from Mattermaps. Please note that if you would like to delete your account, first you will have to delete all users except yourself.

User Management

User Management: here you can invite other users to join your Mattermaps company account. This can be done in bulk or manually.

Product Portfolio

In the Product Portfolio panel, once expanded, you can add the information for your products, such as Factories, Business units and Product Identifier Types.

In the Factories section you can add all your manufacturing locations, this is an important step and must be done before you start adding products to your Mattermaps account. A Factory is the name of a city/country of the different manufacturing locations / factories of the company.

In the Business Unit section previously, you had the possibility to create business units. A business unit is an organizational division or department within a company that can be assigned to product managers and product families. Business units have been migrated to Access management, if you don't see it, you need to become a premium user to continue using it. You can learn more about it here.

In the Product Identifier Type, you can assign a unique code type used within the organization for your products, and align these "types" according to the company’s internal systems. This does not represent your Product ID or Product Name. This is the description of the type of Product you need to create a PCF for. Examples: CAS Code, SKU Code, Article Number or Product ID.

Additional Knowledge

Product Identifier Type in detail

What is a Product Identifier Type?

A product identifier type is a classification or category that helps to uniquely identify a product. It is a specific attribute or characteristic used to distinguish one product from another. Some examples for product identifier types:

- Material ID

- Universal Product Codes (UPC)

- International Standard Book Numbers (ISBN)

- Global Trade Item Numbers (GTIN)

- Stock Keeping Unit (SKU Code)

- Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS Code)

These identifiers play a crucial role in managing the different products in an organization.

Why do you get an error while adding a Product or when you want to link a Product in your Product Tasks?

As you have just signed up, there is no data on Mattermaps yet. It needs to be fed with data in order to start sharing /requesting PCF.

Steps to take to answer the PCF request coming in from your customer:

1- Open the Product Task (the request received from your customer).

2- Review the Request Overview tab. Try to understand what is requested, in which format, from which location etc.

3- Click "Proceed to Share PCF". You will see the below screen /error:

This means, in order to share the PCF, first you need to create a product.

4- Click "Add Product", once clicked you will see the below page:

5- This means you need to first add the product identifier type in order to create your first product.

6- Click on "Add Product Identifier". You will be directed to Company Configuration page to add a Product Identifier Type.

7- Simply Click on "Add Identifier" button and type in the product identifier type or types. You can add multiple identifier types and you can make those additional identifier types mandatory as well if needed.

Partner Network Directory

The Partner Network is designed to help you connect with companies that are already on Mattermaps. Note that it does not replace the process of inviting suppliers who are not yet on the platform.

Find companies using the search bar by entering the Company Name, Mattermaps ID, or other company specific identifiers like Tax IDs or DUNs. Additionally, you can filter companies by country, industry, and company type. It is not possible to search for companies in bulk.

You have the option to send a message to companies first or directly connect with them. Before a connection is established, the receiving company must consent your invitation. Only Company admins receive emails and can approve or reject connection requests. Once accepted, you can continue with adding the company as a supplier and start requesting PCFs.

The panel on the left allows you to view invitations you've sent and received, as well as current connections. Sort connections by newest or oldest, and manage ongoing conversations in your messages. Messages appear in chronological order, with the newest at the bottom.
